possible 150? (trunk car FTL)

right which is usually 3-4db higher..
for ex. car peaks at 48hz you tune the box to somwhere around 51-52hz correct?
Usually the opposite, called "cabin gain". Every vehicle is different obviously, but if you want to peak at 48hz usually you will tune in the lower 40's. My blazer peaks around 50hz so I usually tune around 43-46hz.

URGGGKKKK wrong! Depends on the box size and speaker. depending on box/speaker you can tune at 48hz and peak at 48hz or tune at 35 and peak at 65

Makes sense to me, though I don't know much about SPL. But I can agree with this because I had a DD 9515 in 5 cubes ported tuned to 38 Hz and peaked at 56 Hz.

I also had a 1 cu. ft. box sealed with a 10" TC2+ and it peaked at 56 Hz as well. Once I went with my RL-p and TC 5200 (both 18's) in 5 cubes sealed, my peak was somewhere around 30 - 33 Hz. Don't quite remember exactly, but all this was in an '01 Accord sedan.

URGGGKKKK, re-read my post I didn't say always or every time, but it usually does. And I think tuning at 35 and peaking at 65 is a little ridiculous:rolleyes: .

My Blazer peaks at 51 Hz and the box is tuned at 51 Hz. I've tested with single 12's and with two 10's in various sized enclosures and the vehicles freq has never changed. You want it to sound good and hit the lows then tune it low, you want to hit higher numbers then tune the enclosure as close to the vehicles resonant freq, it'll hit better numbers but probably won't sound as good on music.

not sure if this was asked, or anything.. anywhere to find the frequency of any and all vehicles?

Got a 95 Honda Civic 2Dr .. getting my immortals reconed by FI with some extra shit done to them.. wanna do something big..

Epic Failure for me

so if the car peaks freq. is 48hz how do i build a box to try to peak at that same freq??

i was thinking just tune alil higher?? that that was wrong i quess there alill more research and testing in enovled..

that what i was thinking

i like the lows so it will have an interchangeable port 36-40hz daily and 48-52hz for comps.(with more port area)
