possible 150? (trunk car FTL)

G-Force enclosures makes some of their enclosures with a great interchangeable port. If you know the vehicles resonant freq they can make a slot ported enclosure tuned to that freq and a port that slides into that slot port to reduce the size and change the freq for music if needed. I saw a couple of them at some comps and they were really easy to swap out and they were hitting some decent numbers.

IMO interchangeable port kind of defeats the purpose if you're going for a daily set up to do it. You won't want to drive around and listen to it with the high tune and swapping ports means it isn't really your "daily" set up then.

I'm pretty close with my daily set up as it burped a 149@34Hz. Sounds VERY good on music also...

FYI you dont tune to whatever FREQ the car or suv peak at u tune the enclouser so that it peaks @ that Freq!

That is sometimes true.

The more power you put on a sub, the closer it will peak to the tuning of the box. So you would want to tune alot closer to your car's res frequency if you are dealing with a good bit of power. Vehicle is also another factor.

your car peaks at 34hz? and i see what your saying but if i can get in the 148 range with my "daily setup" ill be happy BUT when i go and compete ill change the port and if i can bust that 150 ill be all smiles...

w/ the 4 10's and 2 3kw amps my setup will be similar to your's..and we will be running the same company(AQ) so im guessing the numbers should be around the same...(hopefully)

PS Care to share your box specs and your voltage drops?

01', and yes they all **** for spl. My 3rd gen did too.

what car you have now? and yea my 4th gen sucks too..and i have sun roof //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

it be hard from the trunk my vote is to seal it off from the trunk with that equipment i dont see why u cant burp 50s but on music? thats an whole new level i got some pics of my cousin car trunk car he played music in the 50s 6 12's in an 4thorder bandpass All sealed off from the trunk firing into the cabin
let me get them pics and i tried a to seal it off temp.(Screwed some MDF to the box then to the backseat brace) i didnt like it at all..it didnt have any lowend(box was @ 35hz) BUT it moved air..it just didnt seem like it was loud compared to when the box was subs up port back..

I am trying to get in the 150 club as well but its hard in the trunk. I have a honda civic with 2 Kicker L7 15's facing forward with the trunk sealed I was at 140 with a Autotek Amp each sub probably got 600 watts now I bought a Crunch GP 3000 Pro havent metered it yet but I am definetely moving ALOT of air

my buddy had his 2 15" L7's sealed from the trunk he had his port firing off the rear glass tuned 30hz that shit got lowwwwwwwwwww as hell! car had serious flex! and it was sealed from the trunk. so i dont see that being the reason it didnt get low
