possible 150? (trunk car FTL)

what car you have now? and yea my 4th gen sucks too..and i have sun roof //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif
Same 01'. I will drive it till it dies. I have also had a sunroof in both gens.

Ok, then I would call it more of a "dual purpose" set up. Nice sound for daily and ability to get LOUD for burps/comps. You could also look into amps that can be wired down very low for burps and get the right VC's on the subs to change it up for burps.

With boxed tuned to 38Hz it peaks at 34Hz. Last year box was tuned to 35Hz and it peaked at 31Hz. Not sure why, but since I'm not an SPL competitor it doesn't matter.

Box is 8.5cubes @ 38Hz. Was a rather tight fit in the trunk of an Altima...

I've been very happy with my old HD's, but I'm reconing some HDC's to see what they'll do. Hoping to hit that magic 150

What subs/amps you going to run? Rear seats fold down?

no the rear seats dont fold down and i hacked some metal from the support so air can go through alil more(rear deck too)

4 hdc3's on 2 audiopipe ap30001d's i think i can wire them down to 1 ohm for a burp...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif

and i notice that whole peaking thing too thats why i want to port the SPL port to 49-52hz somewhere in there should be great..

PS where do you fit your batteries and amps

Im personally is going to run4-5 everstart maxxin the spare tire well and the amps behind the box(amp rack i made and the 2 amps for my highs is going on thee back of my driver and passenger seats..then im tapped all out of room..

Got one Deka on each side of the box, 2 amps in spare tire well and 2 on the top of the box.

I'd gut all the metal behind the seat and hollow out the seat itself or make the package shelf a giant speaker grill...

What size box you looking at building? Also assuming you'll be building it in the trunk as I don't see a box wide enough for 4 10's sliding in...

You can do it. I did almost 150 off the more expensive line of Audiopipe subs at the time and 2 modded MTX 1501D'S. Then put my 9500's in there and was over 150. Box was built for the MTX's, not the Audiopipes. Whole rear deck was custom made 3/4 MDF.

I miss that car.

39"W X 14" H 28"D and i also notice that when the box is closer to the trunk openning it gets louder so it will be pretty close the the opening..and the box will slide in but wont slide out..lol(done it before and had to cut it out but the other box was deeper)

why would you make the rear deck out of 3/4 wood? there's prolly 55% left of mine

in my neon i was able to do 143 sealed up mic on the window

2 type r 12's

1 bxi2006d

subs forward, port pass side..not sure the freq. was able to do it at

box was a daily box with a curf'd port.

that was with no testing on the mic....it was my first time ever in a comp....i'm trying to get to a 150 musically, with a daily port.

Big difference in a Neon with half the cabin space and the much shorter distance from trunk to window and a long Maxima with four long doors and a huge cabin. I have seen a neon do a 50, just never a Maxima.

I hope JEXTEL is the first one though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I noticed the same thing in my 3rd and 5th gen. Roughly 6"s was the sweet spot in my 3rd gen. The 5th is almost 10". I have no idea about the 4th gen Maxima or Atima though.

Turn your seat into a 60/40 split, all you need are some nice brackets of some sort to mount to the decklid and the back of the seat (dont forget the bottom)

Im going to be doing this and Im thinking about putting my box on some cabnet draw rollers. Have apeice of mdf under the box bolted to the car with one half of the roller mounted to it and the other half on the bottom of the box.

That way when I take the 40 out of my back seat I can roll the box up to the back of the rest of the seat and it will seal off the trunk and cab. The sub will be where the missing 40 section is and the port will be next to it so that it can blow through the letdown door on my armrest.

I was wondering if there was any way I could make that door on the armrest strong enough so that when I push the door up and closed if I left the box in the up position it would seal the box off, not trying to hijack but how do DD 9518's sound in a 4-5 cub box thats sealed or in boxes tuned to 28-35 hz

plus its good if you want to store equipment in the tire well and still want a big box, the only way for someone to get to the amps ect is to take the whole back seat out, then move the box

Cant wait to get the satty put all back together and metered...I can pretty much garuntee a 150 by next summer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
