Porting Type X Subs?

Exs has a 12" type x ported and he haid its really loud and sitll holds its sq so i wouldnt worry bout it.but hes the onyl person i knwo of porting a type x anyone else got an opinion?

Well by looking at the specs, this sub is best suited for sealed enclosures. This is why I'm asking this question. My bud has these subs in a custom fiberglass sealed install and they are one of the better sounding subs I have heard yet. So I don't want to lose a lot of SQ by porting them. ExS what is yours tuned to, and how many watts RMS do you have going to it? I'm doing 2 12's and they will each have a MRD-M1005.

why so low of a tune //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif i have all so learnd on here that too low of a tune will give you bad sq too imo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

not very noticable at all. It all depends on the enclosure. It'll just be a bit louder and you won;t very much notice the SQ difference. But thats only if you make hte perfect sealed and ported enclosures //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
