Ported vs sealed in a standard truck cab?

K. I'm looking to throw in a single 10 or 12 behind my bench seat. I haven't taken any specific measurements, but I've seen people that have enclosures that are 30" by 12" by 4" in with no problem, and they have tons of space left over. I know that's not terribly helpful, but it should at least be a start.
Again, I'd rather not spend over $500, and the less I spent, the happier I'd be. I understand that I'm not going to get much, but again, that's not my priority. I just want something that I can listen to and not go "that sounds terrible". I'm not out to win any competitions.

For the same reasons, I'd rather have something that sounds good than something that's really loud. I'm not trying to rattle my windows, I just want something that can add a fair punch to my music. As for that? I listen to anything from old rap (think NWA) to Five Finger Death Punch, and pretty much anything in between.

Really, I'm just looking for something to fill out the low end of things. Not get funny looks from people at traffic lights.

Go for ported.

Go with custom ported.

Knu conceptz amp kit $50

Sub idk ima say around $160

Amp $150 (maybe more maybe less)

Leaves you with $140 for box
