Hey all! I'm sure that this has been answered a thousand times, but the search function doesn't seem to be working for me today.
Someone recently did me the favor of totaling my Miata for me, and since this is the third one in two years, I think I'm going to move on to something a little bigger and more visible. Given my price range and my occupation, I'm looking at a standard cab Ford Ranger.
Of course, my first consideration was "Where can I put a sub?". doing some measuring, I have no doubt that I can build or buy an enclosure for at least one 10" behind the bench seat. I'm hoping one 10 will be enough.
Given that I'm a cheap and lazy college student, I'm probably just going to buy a Kicker or Sound Ordnance pre-built enclosure and sub. No haters please. Again, I'm poor. And I'm very lazy.
First of all, I feel like a single 10" Kicker with a rating of about 300 watts RMS would be enough for a cabin space this small. With that set up, a 360 watt amp shouldn't pose an issue, should it?
Next comes the sealed vs ported debate. I would usually say ported, but I've heard that sealed is better in such a small cab. Any opinions here?
Any help is welcome. Feel free to tell me that I'm an idiot that has no clue what he's talking about. I won't argue with you
