What Car Should I Buy?

Well out of that list I would go for the Scion. Well just because it is cheap and it is brand spanking new. Plus could you imagine the insurance on a S15 or that FTO. I am guessing this is your DD?? If not, then do the Skyline, but I would rather have something new with warranty and cheap on insurance and still looks good and can get loud with the system and can mod the hell out of....................just would wait till warranty is up. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

its amazing that so many of you know so little about cars :p

The S15 is the most "practical" of the JDM cars you're looking at, but as the owner of a JDM (for all you corn fed white guyz out there, that means "japanese domestic market", like "never came to the US, ever", and also means right-hand drive) S13, it's a pain in the *** to own. SR20s are getting more popular, but if you dont have shops local to you, you're gonna see some serious downtime waiting for parts. Also, good luck getting an S15 to you (in good shape) and registered for $25k. It can be done, but I've seen rich guys here in socal (the CENTER of JDM importing) give up because it gets too expensive, too fast.

I don't know who you think you know that can get you a R33 or R34 for $25k... definitely an R32, but R33's all go for more, and R34s are at least double R33's cost. That being said, having driven a JDM RHD R33 here in socal, I can say that it is absolute *pimpness* to drive a Skyline in the states... problems are the same as the S15 (registration, parts, etc), but more-so, since they're even rarer.

Oh, and the RB25DET powered RWD skylines were called GTS-T's, not GT-T's.

The lesson here, take it or leave it: If this is your daily driver, don't go JDM. If it's a project or 2nd car, do it, but know that it will get stolen/impounded/crashed before you want to see it go... thats just what happens to 'em here ~

No offense.. but have you done your research lately?

http://finance.yahoo.com/currency/convert?amt=1997000&from=JPY&to=USD&submit=Convert yen to usd....and that is one badass car. all you have to do is pay for shipping. this price includes them delivering the car to the port, and de registering it.
Before you make comments like that, you should really do research yourself. Do you have any clue what shipping for a car like that is? Do you have any clue the regulations the US has on importing forign cars? Emissions? etc? etc?

this is a car audio forum. so it shouldn't be amazing. we probally know mainly about the electrical portion of cars. but thanks for the great info. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif gsxrjjordan

If you could read you would see where I stated how it is done to where I am getting them for so cheap. Shipping on a car container from japan is about 4800US which can fit 3 cars so if you get in on a shipment the importer already has coming the shpping cost is 1800 give or take. And I would never buy a gto they are ugly as ****, same goes for the is300 which is why I listed the gs300 same drivetrain better looking car.

Yeah that was a typo on my part, i always manage to **** that up *sigh* There is a guy that lives by me that my friend got an r34 gts-t for charged him 35K, anyone in the Gurnee IL area may have seen it on the road its yellow. He told me if i get in on his next shipment it will take some searching but he should be able to get me an r34 gts-t for 25k. r33 i can get all day for ~20g so im not worried too much about that one, I will say take the FTO off of the list though, forgot it was FWD.
