When I lived in NY, it was cool to be heard from a couple blocks away, and, when I finally got my own car around 17 years old, that was my goal too.
After about a year of that, some older car audio shop guy told me that it was much cooler for your stuff to sound good IN the car vs being heard from blocks away.
He basicaly asked me, "did you put this stuff in so everyone else can hear it, or because YOU want to hear it"
That made sense to me, so, st his recommendation, I sound deaded my whole car, not only did it sond better inside the car, it sounded better outside as well (when I rolled the windows down) because my car was not rattling like an aluminum trash can.
Now that I am much older, I like to keep my sounds inside my car as they are not meant for the outside world.
If you want to show off, pull into a parking lot and let folks get inside your car and then show them what it do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
