Polk MMC6500 install, pics..

Well i sposed i'm happy with them, the tweets are pretty harsh but they are do-able. I get my new Alpine tonight so that will allow me to tweak it a bit better than the Sony. I'd say right now they sound about as good as the Boston Acoustic 746 plate speakers i had before on 50 less watts per side. The bostons probably sounded better.

Any kind of tweeter attentuation on the crossovers ? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
QFT! Set those puppies at -3 dB to hush those tweets a bit. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

See there is an audible difference, if you placed the tweeter at 0DB it's crazy harsh, -3 is a little better then -6 is sufficient, yet still a bit harsh. You think when polk released the speaker theyd say "hey, maybe that's a bit too harsh". on My HU it's a sony so i have the EQ7, did a little tunning and i probably got it to about as good as i'm gonna get it. But i took that out and put it in my ladies car, now im just waiting for my 9857 to arrive. Was supposed to be here yesterday but my friend ordered it and it was delivered to his house and noone was home, kinda made me mad.

would it be possible to angle the drivers side more towards the passenger side of the car?

it looks like you are directly on axis with them and that might be causing the harshness

just an idea

I just recently installed the mmc525's and they are very pleasing. They are installed in kicks I made.Cant lie, wish they were the 6.5's,but oh well.As far as the sound......NICE.they are powered by a kx350.2.(110 x 2).I understand about the harshness of the tweet you are talking about, but have only experienced it with maybe a song or two.I listen to mostly rap/r&b.I have the attuenation on 0.tried the -3 and -6 but ended up switching to the 0 spot.Your problem is that the tweet is too close to your head,i think. The kicks are working out great. My h/u is a Panasonic 7401. with the 5 volt preouts. As far as a solution, couldnt tell you.Just giving my input on the momos.what I like about them best is that I can crank it and dont have to worry about the tweets cutting off like my ef-61's and Cl-62's.

The CDT tw26 tweet was nicley datailed,I admit, but i am happier with the clarity of this set.

Welp, got the 9857 installed, nice headunit...but the only problem i'm having now is keeping the lower frequencies out of the mids. I have every possible bass adjustment as low as it goes on there and on some songs i still get distorting and a little crackling out of the 6.5's, I have my crossover on the amp off...

I have the Polkmomo MMC6500 set also and they are awesome for the money. If you want to get every ounce of sound quality out of them you need to run them off the polkmomo 4 channel amp.

With the momo amp you can remove those passive crossovers and biamp them with the amp. The momo amp has what they call the pre eq button you just use it and it sets the crossovers points for you no adjustments or tweeking it's awesome.
