Pgs new 5 channel amp

Might have found my next new amp. It will look good next to my original Route 66.

have you even tried the rsds? My guess is no. They are better than the xenons in many ways. As a matter a fact everyone i have spoke with liked them better than the xenons. They look a bit crazy, but they are great amps. The new roadster 66 has a different look to it anyways. As for the octane line, it is not new, its been out for years now, and its entry level. It does not compare in any way to the rsd line.

My issue is spending more for less power, with less S/N. Granted the RSd line is much better than the octane/ZR series, but it still doesn't put out the same dollar for dollar as the Xenons do. This is most likely due to the RSd's being newer, but I'm a frugal spender. The only reason why the xenons are so cheap now, is because they are long discontinued. When the xenons first came out they were much more expensive than the rsd line. So you cant compare prices, furthermore, the rsds are underrated.

from what I can see I would say that it is the best looking amp from pg that I have seen. good lines not much bling, but some. and nice and square.

now all of a sudden something else is getting long like the amp

That was the second revision of their first "cheater amp" The year it debuted at CES, they were using it to drive a rediculous number of speakers in their booth.

Son of Frank Amp'n Stein. LE amp that's 2 amps in one heatsink and weighs a ton.

The original Route 66 that this new amp is themed after.

Not a lot of bling on any of those. Not a lot of frills either. The first 2 don't have a crossover or anything of that nature. The last was designed to be a full system amp rated to deliver 60Wx6. It was again 2 amps in one heatsink with signal connections between them made internally. The amps it was based on were (under)rated at 40x4 and 25x2. Think about that one for a sec.

It's nice to see that PG is making limited runs again. I think special edition amps were one of the things that contributed most to their reputation and following. PG may not be the same company that made the original 66 - offshore production, cheesy styling, different design team, etc., - but it's still good to see they haven't entirely abandoned the heritage that got them to where they are today. If didn't already own classic PG stuff I'd buy one.

I used to have a mps2220 and 250 back in 89-90-91 somewhere in there, I loved those amps I jsut thing that new one is way sexy

It should be out in a few months... Pgs new stuff, I assume your talking about the new ryval line? If so, that is entry level...

I saw it today, its pretty beefy, larger than the belle. Its not exactly my taste.

I also met the engineer of the original one, he works at Audison now

i love the FAS!!!! i want one as well. that is my fav amp of all time.

I know that they are hard to compare because of D/ced versus new, but I also took that into account. The first PG item I ever heard of was the Xenon 400.1, and I started learning about them from there on out. I really find the price, specs, and styling a good middle ground between the rest of their lines, D/ced or not. I also love the Titaniums, but those are a bit on the costly side for the budget builder like myself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. Their availability is also not as abundant as the Xenons.

How much are the RSd's underrated? I haven't seen bench sheets on the sticky uptop and I'm interested in knowing.

A shop benched a RSd1200.1 that is rated at 1000 watts into 2 Ohms did about 1390 watts with 14Volts in.

I would bet that the 4 channel amps are at least a little above rated power given the design and no Xe load. At $250 on ebay for the RSd500.4 they are worth it if they put out rated power...The amps sound good! If you read through the 1st post linked above, a guy from overseas stated that:
