it seems like the barnboy has not even seen a sol-x in real life, like most of us...

Oh sure, we can copy and paste the catalogue over here, but we won't be so daft like you to type everything out.

You keep talking about Morels...Jlaine, tell him a little bit about thiel-partner drivers.

a single piece diamond membrane... it'll pierce morels right through. Nope, farmboy, never heard it perform before. At least I've SEEN it before.

Kids these days, they have no clue about how funny they sound.

I have a feeling this one's gonna be good, just like the ol' thundertune days..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Kid, I've got infinity speakers, yes, they sound good.. but it can't be compared to the big leagues..not even Harbeth.

Have you even built a single system before? I don't mean in your head while you're molesting cows, I mean really built a system on your own? If you have, I'm so sure that you wouldn't be talking like this.

Hey, maybe we should get ourselves a "bullshit yadda dadda" corner for all the wanna-bes.. .

Alright, you don't know much about Infinity. Let me fill in. They started out as the best home theater speaker company. got bought out, by harmon kardon, then they just change. before they were bought out, they produced a line of speakers called the sm seies. these speakers set high quality standards at the company of infinity. they beat every speaker on the market, and listed fairly high. the sm150+ listed for 2,500 bucks. they handle 500 rms, and go down to 45 hertz.

they get louder than stage speakers. they sound great. shake the floor. but not noisy.

next time you speak give 'the farmboy' some respect homie.

hmm, so you're saying infinity was the best home speakers of all time befor HK bought them over.

I think the speaker you are trying to tell me is not from a series. They produced a speaker, about 6' tall, two tower, one for ribbons, and another for bass, and yes, that won awards. Are you telling me you got that speaker in your farm?

I say "moo~" to ya...

goes down to 45Hz, and you're saying it's an SQ speaker. You're a load of rubbish, ain't ya?

Home audio stuff... maybe your dad's bought some good stuff, I dunno, but i buy my own. I've been haggling and selling stuff (nothing illegal) in schools since young and made enough money to buy my home audio things a couple years odler than you were.

Infinity reference 66, Quad 606, Quad 66, mark levinson CD.

It ain't the best, but at least I've got it.

Ohh good god...

Ok, since we are talking about price...

Wilson Watt-puppy - about 26 thousand with the optional upgrade and finish package. Heard them.

Magnepans run into several double digit thousands depending on what you buy.

Infinity nor their parent company past or present were never the best home theater company, they were never on an exhaulted pillar, they are considered mid-line at best to true audiophiles.

Say Mr. Farmer, how do you know your towers "go down" to 45hertz? I know my home theater system has been tuned and RTA'd flat within .5dB from 20hz to 20khz, on axis at 6 feet on center with 20 watts of input power.

Can you prove as much? I have RTA graphs to prove mine - how about you?

WTF? I completely missed this topic!

Oh and to "brad.farmer"...it seems pretty obvious that your not too bright when it comes to anything on audio. I've read all of your posts in this thread, and it seems all you can come up with is wattage and how "low" a speaker can get. Why don't you stop wasting your time trying to win an unwinable argument and learn something before you argue to someone like JLaine.

I agree..my inifinity's aren't what I would daresay superior... it's better than those all in one hifi component packages, but I dont' think it'd be featured inany audiophile shows anytime soon.

Brad farmer can prove what he knows by the countless number of brochures he picked up in shows. :p

"I know it goes down to 45Hz, it says so in the brochure!"

"I know morel drivers are good, it says so in the manual!"

infamous last words...

Sir, I do not want to fight. I just want to find out information.

Alright, I am the person who posted, that these towers go down to 45 hertz. Yes, they are not the best, they are good speakers. Sir, you have to remember, though these speakers were made about twelve years ago. They were made to be loud home theater speakers, not low bass speakers. Thank you for the info you have given me, I do appreciate, but I already knew it.

There is a couple of things I would like to know, though. Of course, if you are wiling to find, sir.

Alright, I do not have the owner manual for the Infinity SM150+ home theater tower speakers. And I was wonder a couple of things:

1.) How high do these polycell dome tweetes go up to?

2.) What is the crossover range?

3.) Is it true that it handles 500 RMS and 1,500 RMS

NOTE: The S150+ has other speakers, that look just alike. For instance, the SM155s are a newer version, but not as good as the SM150+s.

If you chose to help me, I do however have to say this, it would be a great appreciation, sir.

Alright, these speakers, you'll just have to hear them. On eBay, you can get them used for 250. But they go down to 45 Hz, or lower. They are rated at 45 Hz, but they do probably get lower, than that. It is hard, believing somebody you don't know, I understand. But, just listen to these speakers! They sound great. They don't shake the floor a whole bunch. Why would you need to shake the floor? It just creates noise.

But, as I have said before, they get LOW. Point-Blank, they get LOW.

Not as low as a subwoofer. Definetly not. But low for a woofer, you gotta admit.
