thats because galamonkey is wrong.

your max internal volume (assuming .75" all the way around, and that all given dimensions are external dimensions) is 15.6cu ft

you have 225.60cu in of port area, and assuming that the walls of the port are 0.75" MDF, there is a total displacement area of 277cu in.

In order for the box to be tuned to 40hz, with a max internal volume of 15.6cu ft, you can do 12cu ft@ 40hz with a port length of 22.20"

EDIT: this will result in a total internal volume requiring 15.55 cu ft, which is **** close.

obviously, you cant have that port be tuned to 40hz.....

Wow, tons of goodness in that post. Yes all numbers were external for the box, the port numbers were inside measurements though, didnt know how clearly my picture would be percieved.

And youre right, 22" depth obviously is to deep as I have that angled piece, and a shorter port is just gonna tune it higher eh, after the few people that already pm'd me, I never figured the depth would be over 16", I wouldnt have built the box this way if I knew that.

Very glad I didnt start the baffle yet, heck, can anyone confirm 22" depth on that port for 40hz? That sucks. I really want a minimum of 220" of port to

just double checked my port calculations, i missed a zero in one of the decimals.

the port should have a length of 21.65" for 40hz tuning (about) with a 12 cu ft box. That is assuming your dimensions are the internal dimensions of the port, and that the port is constructed of single layer .75"

just so you know, all of my calculations arent exact, but rather just real close. Because of your external dimensions not being correct (i dont know WTF you are measuring, lol), there is an error margin here.

I could still build it and just angle the port with the back wall, but Im sure that would change a bit of the tuning.

EDIT: so you got me curious, and I searched for my posts in your threads, I didnt diss your setup/box, I mentionned how I disliked your civics "mod" with its single windshield wiper that was ALWAYS stuck in the center of the windshield trying to immitate a lemans car.... you fix that yet?

you said the port is 6" wide? is that the parts that don't flare out?

if so you box will have to be more than 37.5..

subs 15x2=30

wood i assume .75x4(2 outside walls, 2 port walls)=3

port width.. 6" so 39" if the subs are squeezed in there

Thanks for looking at my numbers, but its 37.5, the subs are 15.5" OD each, BUT they will be overlapping the outside edge of the side baffle and the port, ontop of it. So 2 X 15.5 = 31 + 6" wide port = 37. Left myself a 1/4" of play!!!

the od isn't as important as the length between screw holes.. you don't want to be screwing in side walls

Trust me I love civics, I own 3, 2 Ef's even, but there all about performance, no show shit. Your stereo is actually pretty nice, your new setup looks **** clean compared to the last. Your car seriously would look alot better with 2 wipers, properly working though.
