Orion H2 questions

Hi im pretty new to car audio and am looking at purchasing two 12" H2's. What is the difference between 2 ohms and 4 ohms. Is one better than the other? Are H2's a good sub to choose? Also what amp/amps are good to power these subs to their full potential. I was thinking along the lines of two mono amps one for each sub. Give me some input on what amps are good for this situation. It is a daily driven car but i want them to pound to their potential. Help me out thanks.

there is no difference between 2 ohm and 4 ohm. I think theres a slight distortion level but that all depends on the amp. But either way the distortion is hardly even heard by the human ear. What is the biggess difference is that if the amp can handle the loads, it will put out more. You can see that amps would be rated at 4 and 2 ohms and sometimes even 1. The lower the ohm load the more watts the amp will put out. IF and only IF the amp can handle the load. The specs will always say what the lowest ohm it can handle so you know. You should also check out the wiring of DVC subs thread in the wiring/electrical group. This thread really lays it all down for you so that you can carefully chose what amp you need with the subs you get.
