Optimus Electronic Crossover?

Well, if the Optimus allows you the versatility to setup the speakers more ideally in terms of xover point, slope and level setting , then it would inherently "sound better".

My primary concern would be issues with build quality and longevity of the low-end Optimus unit.

Oh, Optimus stuff has always had solid build quality, though not the best...Just SQ issues are the only things I've ever heard wrong with the brand. It's a shame Radio Shack doesn't have the stuff anymore...

Meh...they were pretty cheaply built from the products I had messed around with.

Side note...whenever I hear the word "Optimus", this is the first thing that pops into my head:

God I miss being a kid... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Transformers rocked....

I've got one of those old optimus electronic crossovers in the garage. I haven't used it in about 10 years, but I can't throw it away. It always worked well for me. I don't know what voltage the inputs and outputs are.

...Well, can't throw it away, can I have it?

Side note: Optimus Prime, for the Win. Who says you have to be a kid? You DO know Hasbro makes a Die-Cast metal, fully transformable War Within Optimus Prime, right?
