How, specifically, does one spending more on electronics improve the economy. By your standards, they are replacing a TV every two years versus every 6 or so.True, something is better than nothing, however, people who can afford the nicer things in life still go there to get their "high end" equipment. The only way to get out of this econimic mess we're in is to spend money we have. People don't realize that. There are plenty of people out there with money right now, but they're out spending it at Walmart to save a few bucks. If everyone out there who could afford to buy a nicer piece of equipment did instead of going to Walmart to pick up a piece of junk that's only going to last them 2 years if they're lucky, we'd be doing a little better as an economy.
Ok Sears, Best Buy etc all import from over seas. Do you think all Americans can afford to shop at up scale shops?Neither Kmart nor Target is considered a fine retailer, although their prices are a little higher than Walmart's.
Definitely no. However, if you can, do it.Ok Sears, Best Buy etc all import from over seas. Do you think all Americans can afford to shop at up scale shops?
So I should run out and blow my savings on foreign made products because its the patriotic thing to do and it will save the country? I should definitely not save money in case I become one of the laid off? What happens when people run out of money because there are no jobs here to support the spending which feeds the retailers who sell products that are not made here? Do we just then rely on local service jobs to support the entire country's economy? This economy has nothing to do with buying American. You have to spend money you've actually got. Whether you're buying American, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, or Mexican, doesn't really matter. If people would stop being afraid to spend money they've got and spend it, the economy would start getting better. Why do you think there are so many layoffs? Because people don't go out shopping. Stores layoff employees because they don't need all the people out on the floors of the stores if there's no customers there. Factories that are still here in this country layoff people because the stores can't sell the product they already have. If people spent their money, these people wouldn't be getting laid off and then everyone would have a little more money to spend. It's really one big chain.

As it was previously stated, if you've educated yourself and made yourself valuable, you won't get laid off. I'm not saying go out and blow your savings on something dumb, but if you've got some extra cash, don't be afraid to spend it.So I should run out and blow my savings on foreign made products because its the patriotic thing to do and it will save the country? Please list these fine retailers.I second that, but when I can afford it I'll shop for the best deals at fine retailers. I really don't like buying crap.
That's the most oversimplified and basic idea of it, but that's how I'd expect a 3 year old to answer. This economy has nothing to do with buying American. You have to spend money you've actually got. I'm living in the house of a guy with a degree in engineering who lost his job after 15+ years. As it was previously stated, if you've educated yourself and made yourself valuable, you won't get laid off. I'm not saying go out and blow your savings on something dumb, but if you've got some extra cash, don't be afraid to spend it.
