Opinions on Ultimate T3 500D?

Hmmm...

Well, I hooked the amp up today and got it running.

I wired the speakers into just one channel like I did on my Infinity amp, but the subs sound slightly less loud than than the did with the Infinity!

Should I bridge the subs across the 2 speaker inputs? IOW, put the + wire in the Left channel and put the - wire in the Right channel to see if I get more power.

Ideas?

^^^ I'm running the subs on a total 2-Ohm load, so each sub is getting ~450W RMS.

After additional fiddling with the settings, mostly the bass boost, it freaking ROCKS!!!!

I still wish I got the T3-1000D, but that's what you get for not fully researching something...

Anyway, I am very pleased with its initial quality, it looks GREAT and its digital readout for voltage and temperature are ahead of their time. IOW, I expect many other amps to have such readouts in the future. If nothing else, it's really cool to know you have that information available.

I cannot find the optional remote control for sale. It also has a real-time readout of the voltage and flashes "C" if it clips the subs. Awesome.

I may have to make a call to Ultimate to see if they can sell me one direct.

BTW, they have discontinued *ALL* T3 products, so if you want one, get one. I was told this by Ultimate's sales rep directly.

What a **** adventure this has been.

Oh yeah, btw, I've given myself hearing damage already with this amp. My head feels like it's wrapped in cotton.

Awesome

glad you'r pleased with yours too. what kinda temps are you seeing? trying to find out what is normal for these. i put a little fan from a computer on mine till i can order a fan from somewhere.

40 Celsius after 15-20 minutes at full blast in late-spring Ohio heat.

Someone mentioned be careful when you get over 43 Celsius.

BTW, you got a pic or schematic of how you wired the fan?

I already have 2 amps and after that it's relay-country and I'm scared of wiring up a fan and a relay.

I can follow directions well, I'm just not too good at creating something from scratch.

I also ordered the t3-1000d hope to get it soon, are these amps working good for you people? also how did you end up wiring the subs to it cause i seen it looks to have 2 speaker outputs did you Bridge wires or 1 sub to each output

i just want to do it right once.. thanks

I've got a 500d that I picked up from Hayhurst and this things makes my 10" Type R POUND. I've only got one sub so I just connected the speaker to the left input. Its a mono amp so it cant be bridged so dont even worry about that. I can say that this thing gets reallllllllly hot though. I'm gonna have to work something out for mine because i'm gettin some bad temps.
