Opinions on this Alpine.

I'm considering picking up an iDA-x100 I haven't heard to much about them. I'm trying to go strictly ipod in my truck, I'm done messing with cds. So does anybody have any experience with one of these?

Yes, they sport 2v pre-outs. However, with the Imprint, that everybody (at least almost everybody) says you should get anyway, you get 4v if that should suit you better?

is there any difference between the new x100 and the older x001? Other then cosmetics?

Thats a pretty cool idea, I like the full color screen on the Alpine tho.

Im not sure putting an iPod inside a HU where there no air movement is a good idea.

Seems like it could get too hot, but I dont know.

I've never noticed mine getting hot, but sealed up in there I guess that is a concern.

I've had the x100 for 6 months now and have had 0 issues with it. I got the imprint module, the bluetooth module and the sirius module and they all work great together. Also picked up the Imprint tuning kit for $30, which improved the sound on an epic scale.

Would recommend you get the deck + imprint + imprint tuning kit and you won't be disappointed.

I use the x100 too and love it. IPod control is fantastic. SQ is excellent. Direct digital output from the iPod to the HU is kick ass too.
