Opinions on Hifonics Brutus Amps

My opinion: I wouldn't run anything out of the Hifonics Brutus line, even if it was GIVEN to me for FREE!

With that said, it isn't a bad amp for the money.... It just isn't what I am looking for in an amplifier!

they are nto that bad, overated yes but at least the quality is up to par. never had problems running them but it only puts out a little over 1500 watts when i had it on my DMM

I'll agree that Hifonics makes a great budget amp!

With that said, I actually owned and ran a Zeus V1 in the late 80s in my POS high school hooptie! I helped a neighbor build his barn over my summer break and that is what he paid me with. The Hifonics amps that you see today are built NOTHING like the originals and that is my main stigma against them.

It will work just fine for your install. The only reason I wouldn't run the new ones is because they aren't the same overbuilt tanks that they once were. Sadly, this can be said for about 90% of the "American" car amplifiers that are now made overseas //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

My only recommendation would be that you take precautions to isolate your amplifier from extreme vibrations if you can. In other words, don't mount your Hifonics amplifier directly on your subwoofer enclosure without using some sort of rubber shock mounts!

as far as hifonics goes, tha older tha better. i wouldnt have any of tha newer ones unless its tha higher end ones. i love my old api's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

What would you recommend if you had my set up and money wasnt really an issue?
