Reverb HUM when trunk is closed.

I just installed my MTX box with 3 10's @ 2 ohms.

Kicker ZX400.1 mono amp.

I ran a PAC LOC OEM-2 (with remote trigger) to convert to low levelRCA's for amp input from the rear factory amplified Sub in th rear deck.

All in the trunk.

I have gain adjustment on the LOC and on the amp and not exactly sure which way to go here. The LOC gains are barley barley off of dead CCW (off) and the amp gain is about 1/2.

If I try to get any more from the amp gain and the bass boost (which is also 1/2) it sounds great. Then when I close the trunk and the SUBs start vibrating (low level (Reverb for lack of a better term) Hum). If I adjust back down a tad till it doesn't hum when I close the trunk, get in the car and close the door it starts to hum again. I can adjust it a tad lower and it doesn't hum but I think I'm not getting all the bass I could be. I have the crossover about 100hz/125hz.

When I get it where it seemsaccepyable (hum wise) I do notice at low volume (and even when I closed the door) that it picks up and amplifies the vibration thru the subs and fades back out.

I really don't understand what causes the rumble when I close the trunk. When I pop the trunk to get out and adjust the amp it stops and restarts when I close the trunk again. WHAT'S UP with THAT ! !

Should I open up the LOC gains and then maybe lower the gain on the amp ?

It seem initially I had the bass boost up 2/3 and was getting decent solid Lows but once I started adjusting the amp gain and boost settings I can't seem to get it back.

Didn't mean to be long winded, just trying to thouroughly explain the situation the best I can.

Also I realized that the MTX box is not ported

Thanks in Advance

I tweeked up the LOC gains a very small amount, turned the Bass boost down to about 1/3 and set the gain to about 1/2. Right now it sounds decent. I still get a little road bump noise. I went to the guy who I got it from today and asked him about it. He is an installer and seems to know his S**t as well as I can tell, He says its due to the Factory Sub in the rear deck being under pressure in the trunk I had it disconected when I bought (and we installed) this amp because I wasn't sure how the LOC/my original amp/and subs would affect the Ohm load on the Factory sub and din't want to blow it so that someday I can put it back as stock.

He also said that if I disconnect the Fact.Sub (since it feeds the signal to the LOC>amp) it would stop. I haven't tryed it yet since I'm close to where I want to be anyhow. I still run the Factory HU /amp and 8 speaker system along with the Kicker in the trunk. I still don't understand it. Even at 0 Volume and the the trunk not quite closed (still slightly open about 2 inches) it would start the reverb thing.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
