opinions on eclipse TI PRO 15"

anyone played with them? or heard them in a setup? whats the powerhandling like? specs states 3000 rms, but that seems a little steep for daily driving... it does have a 4" vc, tho. and its quad coil. if anyone knows anything about them pleez lemme know. thanks in advance

I thought you allready had one?

The Pro is a purpose built subwoofer, SPL,SPL,SPL. It's very tricky to find the right box if you don't plan to compete and just want a daily driver. Since it has a quad 1ohm coils, you'll need to get two big 2ohm stable mono amps or a huge 2 channel amp that is .5ohm stable in stereo.

The power it needs will depend a lot on your box and what kind of sound you are after. With 1500Wrms, it will get very loud but you won't see its full SPL potential unless you have quit a bit more than that.

i do already have one, just hadnt made the box for it nor do i have an amp to power it... just trying to get a few educated opinions b4 i start spending $$$. whats a nice LOUD box that will play LOW for daily driving? thanks fellas. power will be between 1500-3000. depending on box size.

5 cubes @ 28 hz.

Correct. Funny thing is that TC Sounds actually recommended a 1cf box tuned to like 31Hz for the 4HP //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/omg.gif.05aa02c3095d6ce9338996654eca0863.gif

i have a 4 hp eclipse ti pro quad 1.4 ohm coil. prototype from tc sounds with titanium voice coil former. this sub is not the best for spl. its much more of a daily driver and low monster. the fs is way to low for spl. and unless used in an suv and tuned around 40hz it will not put up extremly high numbers. it also has very little cone area and is not very effecent.

as far as sq for a sub that takes 3000+ watts rms, it is amazing. and the lows are crazy. i have had my eclipse ti pro 15 in a 7 cubic foot wall with 96 sq inches of port tuned to 38hz for about 6 month now. i first had 2 concept 2400a amps at .7 each. now i have 2 kicker 2500.1 amps on it for daily. so around 4400 watts rms plus or minus. if you give it full power for 10 minutes straight on a hot day you might smell coils. but it handles the power fine and sounds great doing it. and watching it move 2-3 inches peak to peak is fun on the lows. my highest score tuned at 38hz is 147.5 on the termlab. burping a 40hz tone. we all know that walled vehicals like 60+ hz so, this is pretty impressive.

i would like any eclipse ti sub lol

Giving subs more power really wakes them up. The MRP-500 is pretty low power. You would really notice more authority in your bass.

I’m sure they will be a good budget setup. I think they will lack some midbass but door treatment is super important so definitely be sure to do...
