Opinions on a cigarette lighter digital volt meter? And How to wire my subs to 1 ohm?

Ok. I am looking for 2 digital volt meters.

I was wondering if cigarette lighter ones are accurate for the front?

Otherwise I will just go with 1 and place it in the back. Are the cheap ones absolute garbage or does it not matter?

Also. I am an idiot. I went to 12volt.com for help with how to wire my subs. THey are sundown z.3 dual 1 ohms.

But when I wire them I either get 4 ohms for the final load or 0.5 ohms.

I want my final ohm load to be 1 ohm.

wire series parallel on a 2 d1's ....it will be a 1 ohm load.

That's what I did. It's weird. I kept getting a weird ohm load.
You are using a dmm to measure, i take it? If so, measure all of your vc's independently to see if one is out of whack. Also keep in mind that there are lots of speakers that, although rated at a specific # of ohm's, are often a few 1/10's (sometimes more, sometimes less) off.

Yes. I tried 2 different DMMs. ANd I am aware that ohms is average will never read a precise number. I'll have to look into it.

i have one of the cig lighter meters and they are not 100% but close enough to let you know when ur volts drop too low.. my regular meter read say 14.5 and the cig meter read 14.3 at the same time. worth the 5-10 bucks imo

Speakers are rated in nominal impedance not DC resistance, DMM's measure DC resistance. If you want to check your wiring measure one coil then measure the final load they should be the same for what you are trying to do.

Makes sense. The cig lighter meters say that they are accurate within + or - 1.2%
