distro block

So, i finally completed my large 3, and i upgraded my power wire from batt to distro from 4 gauge to 1 gauge welding wire.. for all intended purposes, this wire is not very felxible.. at all.

t has many 14 gauge solid strands of copper. Now im having a hard time fitting it into my distro, which is 4g in and 4, 8g out. If i trim the wire to fit what will that do in terms of the amount of amps pulled through that wire?

Also, would it be wiser to just buy a 1/0 distro instead of trimming?

Ive tried heating it with a torch and then twisting it with pliers, but to no success..

would it be possible to buy an 0 to 4 ga adapter and use that? I forgot what they're called but I see people use them on amps a lot. also, what kind of terminal are you dealing with here?

thanks for the response! I didnt think of the adapter, my only question is how will it affect/badly the total amperage allowed to be pulled through the wire... Also if you talking about my amp power and ground terminals well I have autotek 1500.1 ( junk) uses those screew plate things that bannana ends fit well in. My second amp is a jbl 1000.4 which is, I believe, 4 guage power/ground terminals

1/0 connected to distro, just had to shave some copper strands off.. voltage (at amp) is sitting at around 14.xx and 13.xx on heavy duress ( car running). So, my setup being 6pack yellow top optima up top ( 450 cca, 5xx ca), stock alt ( max 70 amp) im still seeing hot amps (jbl gto 1000.4 and autotek 1500.1) Also, upgraded to 4 gauge power wire from distro to amps ( matches 4 gauge grounds)

What should be my next step?

Seeing as my current/voltage is high, does this mean my electrical is more eficient and i can ouput 70 amps faster?
