1. A company is allowed to drug test whenever they want.2. A company cannot discriminate someone based on race, it a LAW.

See the difference?

So, within written law, a company can do almost whatever they please...this includes drug-testing you.
Laws can be changed. And created. This is an opinion based thread, if we were going on what is law, then this thread would not even be needed. What we are trying to say, is we dont agree with it and that it should be illegal for companies to do it. It wasnt always law to not descriminate against women and other races, these things changed over time.

Now hold on one second there. I want the guy driving next to me on the freeway just as sober as the doctor performing surgery on me. I don't see how you can segment by job type. It is a discretionary decision.

Well its already a law for the guy driving next to you, so no worries.

Im saying because it wouldnt be the employer doing the test, it would be the insurance company that is covering that person. If the insurance was dropped, they would still have a job up to the point that their employer made a decision to find a different position or terminate. I think we can all see the difference between a job that other peoples lives are depending on, and someone working at best buy selling computers.

oh for FUCKS SAKE.

im talking to SPIDER MONKEY on his comment about a law that that he thinks is perfectly fine and they can do what they deem is fit for the company. yet if you have a company owner who is racist and deems it fit to not hire a black man, or a christian, or a jew, or a mother of 10 kids, its not ok.

im trying to understand how that is not hypocrisy. this doesnt even have anything to do with the thread, but more so with what he said.

are you just so enthralled with the thread that every time you see me post your trying to prove me wrong about the thead topic...WHEN IM NOT EVEN TALKING ABOUT IT ANYMORE?!?!

And it is already law for companies to decide too. So...?
Is it actually a law, or is it just not illegal to do. Big difference, and im not sure either way..

I still stand behind my statement that drug tests are unneeded and an invasion of privacy. If someone is not doing their jobs, then fire them, if they are doing their jobs, then who cares what they do at home. I fail to see how it would effect a company either way. There are plenty of reasons to fire someone without adding an inaccurate test.

I think you made an error in that assumption because that is in no way what I was hinting at.
dude that is exactly what you were hinting at. i said the law that allows that is bullshit, and you called me on it. why would you call me on it unless you had a different stance.

Yes, drugs are illegal.

Yes, discrimination is illegal.

No it isn't do0d! It is following the law!

Dammit. /thread

last post...im late for heading out cause of this thread. looks like i need a drug test
^^^^^^^^^^^

Well it matters to me. I don't want to work with crack heads.
If I wanted to do that, I'd get a city job.
And if you could tell who is a crack head at your job, then they would be fired before they even got to the test. Im sure the stealing, lieing, tardiness, etc would give more then enough reasons to get rid of them.

You misunderstood, or we misunderstood each other's direction. I never questioned the validity of the law. I stated that it was as such and that is what my decisions would be based off.
Late.
So your not saying that the law is right or wrong? Simply that it is law, and thats it?

Complete blind ignorance right there. I will never simply agree with a law because it is a law.
