operating system

I have used Vista a few times and I hate it. Not to mention it takes an hour to boot up and you need a minimum of 50 billion gigs of RAM to make it run decent lol...

I'd say go back to XP, if you can reregister Vista when it becomes more stable, and better 'known' about all the bugs so far. The reasoning for this, is so you can have an operating system that meets 'today's' standards in about 1-2years. By then, XP will be 'dead' to manufacturers, and software developers.

I would use XP pro. For a daily machine Vista is no good right now IMO. My only machine running vista is my HTPC because I like the new MCE. My main machines will continue to run XPP for a while. I have one machine running Ubuntu and if you do want to tey a linux distro that is easy, I suggest that one.

I've been running vista for over 4-5 months now with no problems. I started using the original RC builds and have been running The RTM version with no problems. I had to tweak it and turn certain things off that i dont like. I'm running an AMD turion 64 with 1gb of ram. Its fast as hell and boots up fast with no delays. The 64 bit of vista still has problems with certain drivers depending on the PC. Overall, for most people XP is way more stable and they are used to it. But websites like Winmatrix.com, and thevistageeks.com(
