is it possible to get good sound out of 5 1/4" speakers?

my budget for front + rear speakers + amps = $1000.

i can only fit 5.25 in my front doors. however i can and will fit 6.5s in the rear along with a subwoofer in the trunk.

2- mtx t8124a 12"subs $136.99ea ($273.98 total) or

how much room do u have for a boxfor the sub?also do u have a head unit already because this makes a huge difference in ur system

for speakers id get focal polykevlars with any 80x2 at 4ohms amp. A good one would be from US acoustics. Then i wouldnt even get any rear filll but if u want u can just get dedicated midbass drivers for the back, then ud have to power those so id get an 80x4 amp. I wouldnt even bother with the rear fill though no need. For subs u can an Ed A for 300 bucks and a tsunami 1100. that would be an awesome setup.

Focals - 280

Us Acoustics 2 channel Amp - 80

Elemental Designs A - 320

tsunami 1100 - 275(i think)

Then use the rest to make ur box and buy all the wiring to install YOURSELF.

ok just to give you guys an idea i will put in an alpine 9815. for subs, i am still debating between 1 idmax, 1 13w7, or 2 idq 12s. sq is important but i dig it when subs hit hard. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif oh and the $1000 for speakers and amps is separate from my budget for hu and sub(s).

ohhh shiit then id grab the focal utopias or CDT eurosports in a second. for the rear fill get midbass drivers. CDT makes some. look on thezeb.com for focals purecaraudio.com has em and ebay has good prices as well. great choice on the HU. for the sub i would get the W7.
