old skool stroker 15...what do y'all think?

They were designed and marketed as pa drivers originally. My pair came from a bar, they tossed the cabinets and I dug in the trash and pulled out the drivers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
now that is a deal.

Strokers were originally designed for movie theater applications using THX iirc.

Dont expect alot of excursion out of them, which can cause some issues trying to use them daily. I was never a big fan of how they sounded on music in a car audio application, but maybe my ears weren't as discerning back then. Its been many years since Ive heard one.

I always thought they were one of the coolest looking drivers from the front. The external and adjustable spider for a dust cap just looks high tech or something.

The old strokers are a piece of art IMO. Loudest sub I've ever used when throwing less than 1500wrms at it. Very efficient sub, but just couldn't handle the power the Juggs and DD9500s could back in the day.Where stroker cones started to fold, new-school SPL subs walked away.

They're a bit of a double-edged sword. The bigger the box, the louder they got (at least in my setup). But the larger the box the more sloppy they sounded.

I still have my 18d2, **** thing is pretty much a collector's piece nowadays lol!
