As you know, pg was bought out by AAMP, and some of the original pg engineers are back. Morgan that worked for exile, is now back at pg, restoring it, with some others. Here are direct quotes from morgan.
"AAMP "gets" it when it comes to Phoenix Gold. If they wanted to be in the "race to zero" amp and speaker business they would have just slapped a name on a heatsink and dustcap years ago. Instead they understand value of bringing a quality product to market. "
Below are two pics:
- Yes, the original PG logo is back. The amplifier well more to come on that.
- PCB layout shown is a quasi M/MS/Ti design. This is a big four channel with layout similar to Ti or M series, but it has MS style dual power supplies and loaded with caps and output transistors.
- 2010 new amplifiers will have 4+ monoblocks that make 1000 watts or more. 2+ four channel amplifiers that make 100 watts x 4. Hope you like old school/big power amps...
