i hear ya.....the mb quart 1500 $300 looks like a much cleaner amp than the audio pipe, or the aq1200 $250+ship..anyways, probably just gonna keep it and try to sell my kicker sub and hopefully get a good d1 or d4 12" sql sub...thanks guys

I got a mint condition BD 1000a1 and matching Power 400a4 a few months ago.

I guess Old School could be determined or specific to ones age. That amp is far from OS to me. OS to me (age:34) is pre '96.

I have heard both good and bad about those amps. That bad being that they can get very hot and suffer from PD (premature death). I've never owned one, nor will I. RF just isn't my cup of tea.

The BD1000a1 never got hot on me. That thing is built to last.

At 2 ohms that amp never gets hot. I am not sure if people tried to run it at 1 ohm.
