The next ed NINE.1

Hey guys

I am looking for the next ed NINE.1 amp. I had a 9.1 for about 5 years and it finally gave out on me. Power wise it fit my two setups very well. I used it daily powering a rl-p at 2-ohms and and when I wanted to be loud a XXX at 1-ohm ported. I am in search of an amp that has very similar specs as the 9.1. I have been looking at the aq1200d, cadence ZRS-700d, and was looking at autotek but have heard that they aren't what they used to be. I need to stay somewhat low on the price but don't want to suffer a huge SQ drop either so let me know what you are thinking.

C'mon guys. any suggestions. I am looking for a durable amp with 600-1000 rms at 2-ohms and 1100-1800 rms at 1-ohm. anything lets say 300 bucks and under would be my range. If possible compare to 9.1

Supposedly eD is making the 9.1 again. But yes avionixx is the exact same amp.

I run 2 9.1's, and love them. If you stay around for a while you'll see one for sale, they are always floating around here.

An MB Quart Q1.1500 or ONX1.1500? In my opinion just as nice as the Discus series.

Not sure how much you've read around the forums lately, but Audiopipe's Mono amps sure do

seem to be the real deal.

There is a Cadence Z1200 in the classifieds. Its brand new in box and would shit all over anything listed in this thread yet. Class A/B. Benches at 1400+@1. Has a .04% THD at rated power. I was in the same situation as yourself when I put together my first legit system and I was between ED and Cadence as well. I went Cadence and would never go back. Only reason I sold it was because I couldnt find a matching 4 channel for a year or so.

Audiopipe is garbage and so is new Hifonics stuff. Just throwing that out there. They are no where near clean power and do no where near rated power depending on what model you get.

CEA rated means they do rated power at 4 ohms. That has nothing to do with the amount of distortion or 2 ohm ratings.

I'm not sold on selling it (9.1). I love the amp. It is by far my favorite amp I have ever had. More than likely I will send it back to eD to be repaired but at the present time I need an amp that can run the bass in my car. I have a spare stereo amp for the speakers but not a backup sub amp so it was inevitable anyway. Thanks for some good feedback. I will do a little studying around on some of the names thrown out to see what route I will go. Also what is the word on the DD m1a? There is one selling for 300 on ebay right now. Spec wise it looks good for my setup. Anything I should know about the brand or any other important info?
