No, $5 in silver is worth $5, that was an extremely dumb statement on your part.5 dollars in silver is worth more than the value of a 5 dollar bill......
Banks send worn out bills to be destroyed.it's crazy to think that it stayed in circulation this long.
when i find coins pre-1980 they look like shit, all nasty and worn out. it's crazy to think that paper lasted this long without getting all torn up or wet or who knows what
Really? Time-relative valueNo, $5 in silver is worth $5, that was an extremely dumb statement on your part.

define good shape? it has a bunch of creases and fold marks, but there's no rips or tears, so i'd say it's in excellent shape, but i'm no collector...I collect silver certificates. I have somewhere around 60 $1 and a few 5's and 10's. That one, if it's in good shape, is probably worth around $15-20. Check out ebay if you want to sell it. You'll probably get $15 or so for it there.
i have a 1 dollar silver certificate i stole from a friend and ive had it for years //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gifIf that bottom pic is the one you have, it's because it's a silver certificate. You can trade that at a bank for 5 dollars worth of silver. Or at least that's how it's supposed to work, lol.
Kef
It wasn't in circulation, it was saved by someone and they either died and someone is just now spending it, or they're finally just now using it.i know this. i'm saying it's crazy that it's been in circulation 55 years WITHOUT getting all worn out....
What would you rather have? $5 of silver which goes up in value or a $5 bill that is going down the shitter? It makes perfect sense to me.First off, that isn't what you said, secondly, no shit Sherlock.
What you said is $5 of silver is worth more than a $5 bill, wrong, $5 of silver is worth $5, as is a $5 bill.
i understood what you meant. What would you rather have? $5 of silver which goes up in value or a $5 bill that is going down the shitter? It makes perfect sense to me.
