i just finished wiring my subs, but after putting some thoughts into it i think it's wrong. i have cause i now have 4 wires to put into 2 terminals and after looking at this diagram again

http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woofer_wizard.asp?submitted=true&woofer_qty=2&woofer_imp=4

(parallel wiring 2 4 ohm dvc speakers)

was i suppose to jump the positive wire from each sub? because i put a piece of speaker wire and i had one end go to one sub's positive voice coil and then i put the other end to the other sub, which in the end gave me the 4 pieces of wire for my terminals. i think i wired everything else right, put the power to the negative on the opposite voice coil and ran a jump from the negative to oppositve voice coil negative and same for positive.

but was i suppose to jump the main positive/negative wire, or was i suppose to just jump it.

sorry for all the newb questions lately

if you are saying you ran each voice coil to the amp seperately, then its not "wrong" just a clumsy way of doing things. yes, most people just jump one vc to the other then have one + and one - for each speaker

okay, i think i'm just going to change it then, to save wire, and to make it right. man do i feel dumb haha. i guess it could've been worse for the first subs i ever wired

as long as the wire is sufficient in size.. if you daisy chained them from speaker terminal to speaker terminal, or ran em off each the amp, it doesnt matter

as long as you got posotive to positive.. and negative to negative.. (for parallel)

in the end you should have 2 positive and 2 negatives(one each from each sub), at that point, if your speaker wire isnt too large, you should be able to put both positives into one terminal and both negatives into one terminal

that's what i have, i have 4 wires, 2 from the positive of each subs voicecoil and 2 negatives. it's 12 gauge wire and my box terminal has a male connector so i was going to put 2 ring terminals for the positive and the same for the negative. or should i just jump the wire and make it simple and have 2 wires?

ok, im confused by your wording more than anything. do this for both subs: jump the + of one vc to the + of the other and the - of one to the - of the other. so now you have a wire between the vc's for the + and -. now from whichever vc would be closer to your terminal, take the + to the + terminal and the - to the - terminal, your sub is now wired at 2 ohms.

if your box has one terminal for each sub, repeat this process on the other sub. then from the outside of the box take the + of each sub to the amps terminal and the - of each sub to the amps terminal, you are now wired at 1 ohm.

if your box only has one terminal, after wiring the vc's together on the second sub, run the wires to the terminal and have the + from each sub on the + of the terminal and the - of each sub on the - of the terminal. now you are wired at 1 ohm. now simply run the + terminal on the outside of the box to the amp and the - the same way.

if this doesnt explain it for you, hire someone. LOL

okay, haha i understand running the parallel part. i used 4 wires a seperate wire. one for the negative of sub A voice coil the opposite positive voice coil of sub A

then the same for sub B

plus the wires from opposite negative/positive voicecoils on sub a

and the same for sub b

i'm going to take a picture give me a second to upload

the four wires 2 with tape are positive

and i was going to put 2 of the yellow solderless connectors on the positive nut, and 2 on the negative.

that was basically my question
