If i am not wrong, I actually believe Congress is the branch of government that figures out the finances of this country.

I am sure your statement that if John McCain won the presidency, billions of dollars would have been automatically invested into Nuclear Power, is an accurate one.

just b/c they don't want to get off their ass and get a job when times are hard right? I got laid off 2 times and I got off my ass and went out and got another job and opened a business. that is how the job world works, if you lose your job you go out and get another or you open up a business.

All of GM's cars are shit anyways. I'd take a ford, jap, or euro car anyday over GM garbage.

LOL they aren't going to shut it down. They plan to be in bankruptcy for 2-3 months. This in no way means GM is going out of business. They are simply restructuring the company.
