ok i sold my sub., #1 C.A.B 12" anyone heard it? #2 whats xmax? #3 500rms push it?

false gain knob is not a power knob. It's used to match voltage on the input. Gain manipulates the input signal. It's a pre amp function. Volume would be a faded.
YEAH thanks I was being nice and didn't wanta say it lol..

ok guys thanks.. I'm gonna do what some of u have said and PUNT on the big set up.. even my 40 yr old stepson that was the one that brought guy over here that bought my old subs said what do u need all that for u never leave the house lol.. so i'll either get pioneer champ pro 12 $70 and $65 35hz tuned box 1.56cf perfect for that sub (as someone said in this thread he heard some lower pioneer 10's with low power and they sounded good this is much better+ ported) and be done.. or this and u all may really kill me for this but I just found it and read the reviews kinda crazy and 3yr warranty play to 33hz 1 guy said he ran a real 800 rms to it and it messed up his vision just saying check it out https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_8245_Infinity-Reference-1220se-REF1220SE.html

lol....messed up his vision, that's a lie
Yeah I thought really a infinity?.. that's sounds a little questionable.. still check it out I'm kinda impressed., it's actually same size box as mine within an inch.. I just just put dyno mat over back of rear speakers to stop cones from moving from bass., if I get this box with port on top i'll have to pull that and remove rear speakers so port can come into car but I did that with last car anyway so if that's only problem it'd be fine.. also if I get it and it **** I have 2 months to send back..

Infinity is owned by harman kardon along with JBL. JBL and infinity do make some decent, budget products with some respectable R&D behind them... but I'm just not sure on that particular infinity...The blue leds turn me off...

I find it humorous that you want to join in with him on me, but not with the other two guys that mentioned the same thing.

I understand the gain isn't a volume knob, but adjusting it lower than where the amp makes its full output (matching it to the head unit), makes it have less output.

A 300 watt amp making 300 clean watts will sounds the same as a 3,000 watt amp only putting out 300 clean watts. That's been my experience anyway.

That is in essence true.

**** sorry dude I was just telling him what I thought.. however I realized last night I can do same thing from my hu cause I have loc wired at rear speakers so all I have to do is fade to front which will make front speakers sound louder (just cause less coming from rear speakers) and it'll lower signal going to amp lol.. it'll be easier than I thought.. about amp if I get one it would get the phoenix from ebay $119 3 yr warranty..
