no, the subs are fine..........the h/u is fine......amp is recieving good voltage and everything is wired ok....could this be from a bad ground? And if so, why all of a sudden?

but when you say the subs sound distorted, is it at low volumes also? how did you set the gains on the amp?

also, have you tried swapping subs/swapping amps?

not at lower volumes, but the second I turn it up, they get really distorted and make a weird noise....not popping.......

to be totally honest it's prob the nine.1.... the one I had fried for no reason, everything was perfect too... check the voltage at the output terminals... someone more educated than me can tell you what it should be... but check the output voltages

mines doing the same thing as well. i usually have my bass on mu HU around -3. how i have to set it at 0 to even hear the subs, +2 for any dominant bass (distortion comes from this) and +6 for hard hitting bass (massive distortion) and ive realize its my amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif probly your amp

You need to take a closer look at each component.

It's either damage or user error.

I'm willing to bet you are out of phase. Try the phase switch on the amp first if it has one, but that probably won't do anything. Put it back if it doesn't.

Then switch your positive and negatives on the amp's output that goes to the speakers. Put them back if this doesn't work.

Next pull the subs out and switch positive and negatives.

Sounds to me like they are wired backwards....they will exhibit a lot of movement this way but generate next to no bass, no matter how hard you drive them.
