Oil advice?

I only use Mobil 1 pure synthetic, but my vehicle is a bit more on the performance side than a 6 banger 'Stang. I've used just about every oil brand made in my wife's old Jeep. There's not the huge difference that the marketers make it out to be in a normal car. Start getting into higher compression engines that are turbo'd or supercharged and things are different.

Also, don't buy into the whole every 3k miles lie. The oil is usually quite good out to 10k or more and the owner's manual on the car usually only recommends no more than every 7500.

I change mine every 3k miles, which is usually about a month. AutoZone has the $14.99 oil change around here. 5 quarts of Penzoil, and a Fram filter. I only change mine so much because I put a LOT of hard, redlined miles on the car in so little time.

blah blah blah

as long as you change it like you are supposda you will have no problems

my dad has a 92 chevy and from the first oil change he has been using the $9.99 oil change special (im sure its gone up,but you know what I mean)

no problems what so ever. I think the water pump went out but thats about it engine wise. No internals changed out.

sure mobil 1 and royal purple are good if you race it or dirve it REALLY hard but for everyday driving and some rough driving the cheap stuff will work

just stay away from Penzoil, that stuff cakes up nasty inside the engine

I'm driving a 20 year old car. The every 3k mile is no lie. But I guess 3k might become over kill on newer cars, such as BMW's with their "lifetime" oil change.
