I just got a Kenwood KDC-MP919 stereo for the Z. I still have the Bose speakers and am using a Scoshe adapter until I can get new aftermarket speakers installed. After installing, I tested the radio...pulls in stations fine, sounds ok...but when I slipped in a CD, no sound came from any of the speakers no matter how much I turned up the volume. I have the same exact head unit in my MR2, which I know is a good working unit thinking that my new one was defective. When I got the MR2's head unit installed in the Z, the same thing happened! No sound when playing CDs. So, I put the new head unit in the MR2, and it plays fine on radio AND CD, so I know the new head unit isn't defective.

Why won't either head unit play CD in the Z? Does anyone have experience with this particular head unit in the Z? I plan on gutting the Bose speakers ASAP, but in the meantime, is there any way to get sound when playing CDs in the Z?

Please advise.
