Not happy with new system, need help

Here's what you do..
1. Alpine decks are notorious for not giving pre out voltage unless the SUB gain on the deck is at 15 (full) and im not talking about LOW.

2. You need a Digital Multimeter, Unhook the wires that go to the box from the box the - and + and test them using the multimeter, just wrap the wire around each point and turn it on V~ 200, im assuming the sub is wired 4 ohm. You should be looking for a voltage of around ~ 60v from the amp into those speaker wires.

3. If you are not getting 60v then turn the gain up slowly with the DMM attached until you get that..

4. If your sub is set at 2 ohm then you want around 42v.

Leave all LOW and bass boost to 0.

You will hear lots of BOOM.

Also make sure the LPF is set to between 80 and 100.
yes, do that. get a dmm and set the gains like he said.

also, no offence but i wouldnt mainly listen to the guy that just joined this month. take the seniors words over his.

you should make sure the speaker is wired right first before you start tuning.
see i don't know if the speaker is wired right and the only person I know who does is my cousin but i think he really doensn't know. my only choice is to take it to a shop and have them look at it because i don't know how to tune or anything otherwise i would've did it myself.

it's time to learn grasshopper

I think you went went with the wrong sub if you wanted your system to get "loud." But port the box and you should see a big difference.

look in the speaker manual if it came with one.it might tell you how to wire it in there.i said might because i have never bought an alpine sub,so i dont know.it should be rather simple.

I love it when people chime in about box size when they don't even know the **** specs.

Type X owners manual

Optimal sealed enclosure .65 to 1.0cuft, he's fine there.

If there are none of those metal clips in the sub and I'm understanding the manual right, you are only using one voice coil. You will ruin it by pushing 1000 watts in this manner in no time.

First things first, download that manual and pull the sub out of the box and verify how it's wired.

I still say he should check his Input gain SWITCH.......//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

oh man, you sealed a type x in a 1 cf enclosure? Not good man, that sub needs at least 2 cubes. Also, turn your head unit lows up.
wrong....they love 1 cube sealed. My guess is that he wired the sub in series vs. parallel or the amp/headunit settings are not right
