Not happy with my 15" XXX performance

they are both some overweight subs that need a lotta watts to get moving. The W7 a little less so maybe the gains arent set up right for the xxx. But they are similar.

true, but my 12 XXX was louder than my friend 12 w7. i had around 1300-1400rms going to it. he had some 1500rms fosgate amp going to his. let jus say i was a bit louderand payed around 400 less

i got a Audiobahn Piece of shit 1500Q in an 8 cube box ported to 32hz.

it slams as hard as a friends XXX 15".... in a smaller car.

its all about the box in this situation. build a box that fits. makes sense to me.

Were they both ported? Are you sure the W7 was feed that much? I mean sealed I think 1000 Watts for a W7 is pushing it. It would probably handle less in ported.

I set the gains a 40volts it didn't really hit so I had to give it some more volts via the X589. I don't think anything is wrong, just that the fact that its facing up towards the roof!!!

other then that its a great little woofer. I had the jl w7 13.5 in a ported box. The guy I sold the jl to says his 13.5 which I sold to him hit harder!!! Hmm soo well see when we get metered. His jl is facing his back seat mine is facing the roof. He has it in 96 civic hatch I have it in 89 hatch.

and it sound like your cancelling out the bass, try opening your trunk ..err... hatch and see if it gets louder. my friends got 2 RE 12"s and there blwoing into the trunk [guy who built the box ****ed up and thats the only way it fits] if i open the trunk it gets way louder inside and out. so id try messing with the box postitioning
