the box is huge. only way it can face is up to the roof!!! I thought this would yeild best sound //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. Yea I will have to do something to find out if something is wrong or not. I will try the setup in a different car, but its a ***** taking it out and in from the civic so heavy.

I tried facing the subs up once and it sounded a whole lot weaker. Rear firing the sub usually makes it louder in trunk type cars. You also got to leave some kind of space at the top and the sides of the box so the sound will go into the car and be louder for the people inside the car. If the box is too big then it will sound like a muffled rattle.

yea I will have to try facing it backwards on another car because I can't do it in the civic no room!!!

Backwards facing is the way to go in trunked cars...All the ones I have installed in anyway...My 12" XXX was in an 90 olds cutlass supreme in 3.5 cubes tuned to 30hz with a hifonics brutus BX1500 @ 1 ohm on it and it wanged hard!!! Facing the rear was again the best i tried the front and no good. I even too the rear seat back out and built the box into the front cabin, completely sealing it off from the trunk and it still seemed slightly weaker that way...

they are both some overweight subs that need a lotta watts to get moving. The W7 a little less so maybe the gains arent set up right for the xxx. But they are similar.
