That can easily be met but youll need more power and a more expensive sub. Like i said, look around in the classifieds for a cheap mono block. 1500 ish or so. Or look on ebay for MB Quart or something. Once you find a mono we can direct for a sub.awesome guys, this is why im a noob. I guess re use to be decent, now i just read that 12 year olds in sweat shops throw them together. I have everything for this system so far, but i haven't ordered that sub yet, working on the sound deadening/ wiring as we speak. I want my sub to be loud with taste if you will. I want it designed half way between SPL and SQL. I want to feel it, but also have it act right if im listening to steely dan if that makes sense. I know i cant have the best of both worlds, but im sure i can meet them both half way?
I politely disagree. I believe that he can still do great things with his allotted 500rms. 1500rms would be louder, and open the doors for some nice woofers. But it would get expensive, need another amp, possibly some pricey electrical upgrades. I think 500rms and a suitable woofer would do very well. That can easily be met but youll need more power and a more expensive sub. You could proly do the 500 per coil. that would be hot.Guess I'll be stuck with one hell of an amp for my front stage!, or, can I put 500 watts to each VC on a dual 4ohm and then buy a smaller mb amp to run the front?
DVC 4 ohm subs are very popular and most come in that configuration. However running 1000rms through an AB class 4channel then another amp for the fronts is gonna draw alot of current from your CVICS SMALL ALTERNATOR (//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif) so i still advice just using the rear 500rms for a single 12.The amp has seperat gains for ch's 1&2 and ch's 3&4 (fronts and rears) but if I send the amp a mono signal from my deck, and bridge both 1,2 and 3,4 to get 500 rms x2, would that be the same as 1000 x1 rms off a mono amp? in this case- if thats doable, i would need a dual 4 ohm sub......not sure thats a popular hookup practice for dvc subs?
So, just run what I have planed for now, and if I need more down the road, its time for a more powerful alt and nice battery. my alt pushes 80ish amps stock. With what I came up with, using the nice 0ga wire for the big 3 and install should put me close to the brink of my electrical systems happy zone. if you think the RE will do what i need it to with the power i have, then I stick with it, if not any sub that fits the bill around 150-200 bucks, Im all ears. I do have a chance to buy a used IDQ12v3 for 200 bucks from a local shop, if its worth the extra 35 bucks over the re, I'll snatch it if its still available.DVC 4 ohm subs are very popular and most come in that configuration.
