Noob questions about box and kickers CVR 12

my brother has the same problem with his cvr 12's on a pioneer hu. Amp is MA Audio 1889i, personally I think it is the box I have them in a 3 cube sealed box. I believe porting the box will make the most difference.

So before I actually go out and buy a new amp, what makes the hifonics amp bxi1206 better that my audiobahn a8000v.
