8" or 10" driver

I've got a JL 500/5 that gives me 250W for the sub. I'm looking for an 8 or 10 inch driver for under $100 that will work in a small, sealed, home made enclosure. I'm looking for SQ and it does not need to be real loud. My goal is a tight full low end that will complement music and not be over powering. Any ideas?

I do see an Assassin 8" for sale and wonder how that would sound, but the high Fs has me worried and I wonder how low that driver will get.

Thanks!

The assasin would be near perfect for your application, dont worry about fs, 8s generally have a higher fs than other sizes. Im not sure about power, but an edk9.v2 or something like that is decent and would be good for you.

The Assassin has an Fs of 46.5 Hz while the edk9v.2 has an Fs of 23 Hz. Everything I've read indicates lower is better in a sub driver. There are other factors that I don't understand yet, but it's interesting how different the two are.

Lower is not always better, it just means the speaker has a lower or higher resonant frequency, it all depends on your application.

The assasin is a very capable sq sub in a good install. I say go for one if you can find one.
