Noob looking for some Ideas

I am looking at putting together a good system and looking for ideas. I have heard sundown, Power Acoustik and Kicker are pretty good. I am a noob so looking for some good advice. Thank you in advance.

With Sundown I was looking at either 2 SA 12 with a SAZ 1500 or one 15 Nightshade with a 2500. Which one would be louder and sound better?

Power Acoustik isn't terrible if you understand it won't do rated, in some cases it's not a bad choice pricewise

Kicker is overpriced for what it is and their subs sound like sh*t.

Best way to start is by giving a budget and goal for your system.

My budget is about 2k I want loud nice sounding system.

It is going in a pathfinder would like to use one of the rear seats. If I build the box behind the rear seats I am looking at 4 Cubic feet minus what I will need for the port.

Well start w/ good wiring (i.e Knu, Stinger, etc. etc. etc. 1/0) and at least 1 good extra battery (i.e. Deka Intimidator) and then go from there. Your electrical and your car will be MUCH better off right from the get-go. Building your own box will save lots of $$$ and buying used (Caraudio.com/forum Classifieds) will also allow you to get much better equipment at much better prices. I think for $2k you can make yourself happy as long as you build it piece by piece.

It ALWAYS seems like we get what we CAN get when we start being too anxious instead of waiting and finding what works best (price/performance)... I wish I would have taken much more time in my first setup.

4 cubes before displacement isnt going to be enough for a night shade 15, however a night shade 12 would do pretty well in 2-2.5 cubes and can still handle a lot of power,

i know 1 12 sounds a little weak but my single 12 on 1500 was hitting 140.

I'd do three 10's with that space. Exactly what dimensions are you working with back there? You can do a box that goes all the way to the back hatch and just fire everything up if that'll help you get more box volume.

The dimensions are 42x13x22. That would put the inside Cubic foot around 6.

Exactly what I was thinking. You would be amazed what 3 10s will do in a well designed and built enclosure.
