Noob! Have a few questions.

Im going to be using an 12" Avalanche as my HT sub and i have a few questions. i want to go ported, but i need the box to stay relatively small since it will be in plain view and needs to look nice. 3cft maybe? How small could i go and still sound right.

I was thinking of tuning to 18hz. too low ,too high? and using a tube port, what diameter port should i use, i was thinking 3" to keep the length down. would that work?

I'm a dummy when it comes to ported boxes and this is my first venture into home audio. any help would be appreciated. thanks

A tuning that low may not be effective with that little of volume.
