Nice set of Components from $150 and below

ok i got the rsd's and amp and everything in and going. i have to say i am very impressed. i will make a new thread with a little review later tonight. i also have some pictures to put up.

I've had them for a while, and while I've never heard anything like it in a car when I got them, and thought they were great, I feel the speakers are lacking in a way now that I've had them for a while. I can't put my finger on it, but it seems midrange on my older Polk 6x9s in the rear on HU power is stronger. The RSDs have superior clarity in all ways to them, but to me I want to upgrade soon.

Don't get me wrong, they are a good set for the price, but anyone with extra money should go buy something better as these aren't high-end, just really good value at this budget.

I'm running 180w/Side, and really picky.

Couple of questions for you:

With having used them for the time you have, do you still feel they are worth the $80-130 typically paid?

How are they now compared to your oem speakers?

Yes, They are worth the approx. ~$100 I paid for them four months ago, but I would be willing to pay upwards of ~$300 to upgrade to a better set. I am picky about how stuff sounds.

IMO they lack in in your face aspect the OEM speakers had in the vocals, but it terms of clarity and loudness at the same time in the highs, mids, and mid bass they are good. They have good clarity and are very loud, loud enough to easily drown out all road noises and almost all of the engine noise even at full throttle, but not the in your face aspect most OEM systems have, and I feel if I really crank them the tweeters are too bright, but if you adjust the EQ and tone them down, they aren't detailed enough. I don't know how to describe it besides that they are good, but not highend for someone like me. I guess it just depends on how picky you are.

Mids are installed in a MDF Baffle in the door, and tweeters in the corners of the dash resting below the window next to the pillars. Mids being blocked by driver/passenger legs, and restriction of the opening could also be a factor in my car. Pics of install *also there are other pics of the deadning, baffle, etc in the car audio installs/progress section of my picasaweb..

i have only listened to them for a couple hours but they sound sweet and with the power i have on tap they get retarded loud. but like i said i will post up a nice review later tonight when i get some time.

I'm actually gonna take a lot of this back because I just got a new battery after my old one died. And it's weird, my sub actually hits without starving for power, and my whole system sounds livlier. And guess what? The rear defog works now after it not working for the year i've owned this car lol. This is weird...So I'd go back on my statements and say they are GREAT for the ~$100 USD, and just O.K. if your battery is dying..LOL.
