Hi guys..... i am very new to the car audio scene....... i have a few problems.

first i have a 15 inch cerwin vega sub in an enclosure with a vent.

now when i play it with the vent open i wonder why i spent money on it......while when it is closed it sounds fantastic. plus my trunk starts to vibrate and makes loud noises which looks very unimpressive from the outside. any suggestions

alright, to get subs having tight sounds, sealed boxes work the best while boxes with ents(such as yours) are made to be very loud with not as good sound quality. and as for the noice from outside the car, you can look around websites to find sound deadening matts such as b-quiet and dynamat, im looking for some myself, but it will help stop the rattling.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Great Brands or something was pretty ok I think (used dutch version of it)

Anybody think to ask if the VENT and box designed for the vega??

Vegas only take ported boxes. It's probably something wrong with your box, because I have heard Vega's get very loud with the right box/power.
