newbie trying to go active

basically what the title says... i have a simple system just a set of components and a sub. i have a set of hertz hsk165's running off a zapco 360.4 and a idmax running off a dls a3. i have been told by my local shop that i can run active right off the zapco amp. so my question is what would the crossover points be for the tweeter and the midbass? i know every situation is different but i want a ballpark figure so i can be in the right range and then take the time to tune it to my liking...

thanks folks

The Ref will allow you to x-over the mids but on the HP filter but no way to LP them so they are going to just have to roll off where ever they roll off. This may or may not work well for you.

On the tweeter I would use the passive x-over portion for the tweeter.

That amp will allow to do a semi-active setup but that is it. To go truly active you need on your front stage you need a BP and HP x-over.

The amp you have is good but I would look at either getting a Audio Control x-over or a HU with 3-way capability.

So if your current HU does not have the capability I would recommend just staying passive for now.

What HU do you have now? It may have the ability to do it already.
