i was thinking of getting a Lightning Audio FF 150.2 amp, but have a chance to buy a Phoenix Gold Octane R 4.02 or a Planet Audio P-150.2S.

i have heard that phoenix gold & planet audio are solid, quality stuff. is that true & are those i mentioned above good amps? or are they about the same as the lightning audio in terms of quality and performance?

Out of those, I would choose the Octane, although it's not PG's best by far...

Personally Out of those entry level amps Planet Audio would be your best choice IMO.

I have heard good/bad on all, but I would just the Planet audio simply because I own one and it performs well....

the octane r isn't pg's best stuff. planet audio makes solid amps. if it was a tantrum then it would be a different story.

gotcha, but the octane is better than the lightning audio?

can i at least expect the octane not to run hot? or what would be the advantage in the tantrum line?[
