I am in the market for a remote starter for a 2006 Nissan Armada. I have been to a few dealers and each one gives me different answers to my questions. I’m confused and do not know who I should trust. Can somebody point me in the right direction?
1. Should I use the programmer able module or let the installer hide the valet key in the dash to override the security. One installer said the valet key is 100% reliable and the programmable option may fail.
2. Priority Door locks. The current key fob has this option I press the unlock button once the driver side door unlocks a second time all of the doors. Should a qualified and knowledgeable installer be able to do this with the new remote starter? Some installers say they can other maybe. I understand if will cost additional fees.
3. Rear Defrosters. Having a big SUV like the Armada I was wondering if I could turn on and off the rear defrosters with the remote. Most of the installers say they should be able to do this one said he would advise not to. He said if something goes wrong or the remote malfunctions I could damage the window or the internal workings of the defrosters. How accurate is this? Has anybody experienced any problems with this?
