newbie question about speaker wire....

well, my amp can hold up to 8gauge speaker wire...aka, power wire for most people on this site //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif , anyways with this i would like to take advantage of this capability but would it honestly be completely pointless for me to do that?, use 8 guage power wire or speaker wire in there to run a sub, opposed to using like 12 gauge or 14 gauge?, anyone?

Iis moderlatly excessive but you can still do it, and this way if you ever plan to upgrade your amp at least you know you don't have to rerun speaker cables.

Oh god. Speaker wire goes to the speaker. Power wire goes to the power. Not just this site every where on earth.

12g speaker wire will be enough. 8 guage is serious overkill for daily.
